Busy, busy, busy.

This $25 laptop skin needs to be in my hot little hands, right now!

In other news, though I suppose it isn't really news because it isn't new at all, I am extremely busy with school, work, and my overall well-being. Balancing seven classes shouldn't be too terrible, but this new persona I adopted this semester that decided I should actually try in school is extremely frustrating. This eliminated all of my offhanded homework doing and last minute studying, which in turn takes up a vast majority of my time. Phew. No wonder so many people take their time in college.

My lack of proper work hours is also causing frustration in another department - my finances. If I'm lucky, I put in seven to eight hours a week. Which is to say, if I'm lucky, I work one day all day: Friday. This isn't to say that I don't adore my job to smithereens, heck, it's the only job I've been able to stand for more than a year. I get paid $11 an hour to work at a Montessori pre-school/kindergarten, teaching and looking after the kids of people who can afford $1,500 a month for pre-elementary education. I have to admit, before I took on this job I thought that I would never, ever, work with children this young - they're annoying, dirty, clingy, and require a lot redirection. Or so that's what I thought. While it isn't something that I would do forever, right now I wouldn't give it up for any other job in the world. It doesn't even feel like a job; I care about what I work with and the environment is very fun and supportive (the director also frequently buys nice lunches or Starbucks for everyone, always a plus). Hopefully I can work full-time during the summer.

But money, money, money! My money woes will probably never end. I'm more fortunate than most considering the rent/school department, but I'm a compulsive buyer when I do buy things for myself...and they're usually not cheap!

Anyway, the real point of this post is that having my schedule piled high with tests, papers, observations, and test kit analyses leaves little time for creative freedom. I always squeeze in a few hours here and there to read books (currently working on Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World), but I miss having time to channel my energy through other creative outlets.

Nothing like a disjointed rant to end your day!

More engaging things to come soon, hopefully.

New Blog.

I finally gave in and made one of these things, hopefully my upkeep on it will be better than my last attempts at blogging!
